For Ourselves

FUNDRAISING FOR OUR CONGREGATION AND RELIGIOUS SCHOOL

FELICE W. GOLDSTEIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Sisterhood Agudath Achim administers the Felice W. Goldstein Memorial Scholarship Fund in loving memory of Felice Weiss Goldstein, former Congregation and Sisterhood member and beloved religious school and public school teacher. Fundraising efforts support this endeavor so that annual scholarships may be awarded to deserving individuals interested in pursuing their Judaic studies. For further information, please contact Fund Chairperson, Judy Ellis.

TREE OF LIFE
Our Tree of Life, located in the foyer of the synagogue, is bedecked with beautiful brass leaves honoring and memorializing loved ones and special occasions. To purchase a leaf, or perhaps a brass rock to place under the tree, please call the Congregation office at (508) 822-3230.

YAHRZEIT RECORDS AND MEMORIAL PLAQUES
Records are kept of the Hebrew yahrzeit dates and corresponding English dates of Congregation members and other loved ones who have passed on. Memorial plaques are lighted for the week in which the yahrzeit falls and whenever Yizkor is recited. If you wish to have a special date recorded so that you may be notified in advance of the yahrzeit date, or if you wish to reserve or purchase a memorial plaque, please contact the office.

RABBI HEATH’S MITZVAH FUND
Rabbi Heath utilizes this fund to perform mitzvot in the course of her rabbinic responsibilities and on behalf of the Congregation.

REMEMBRANCE FUND
Would you like to acknowledge a special occasion and help support Sisterhood? The Remembrance Fund serves this purpose. By contacting Caron Hoder, an appropriate card will be sent to the recipient. Each card costs $3.50 and the money from this fund is used to purchase equipment and finance renovations for the Congregation.

REMEMBER THE SHUL IN YOUR WILL
If you are designing or updating your will, please consider including Congregation Agudath Achim as a beneficiary.

CANTOR STANLEY LIPP MUSIC FUND
Cantor Stanley Lipp served Congregation Agudath Achim for more than fifty years. In honor of his many achievements, we have established this fund to enhance our community’s musical and cantorial traditions.

INK JET & LASER PRINTER OR TONER CARTRIDGES
When you want to get rid of your empty ink jet and laser printer or toner cartridges, we’ll dispose of them for you as part of our environmental recycling project. They recycle and our school reaps the rewards from the payments we receive for what we collect and ship to them. Over the past several years we’ve earned more than $800.

SIFREI TORAH REPAIR
Our Torahs are quite old and some are in poor condition. The Congregation had one of its sifrei Torah professionally repaired and our goal is to have all our Torahs restored. Please purchase Yom Hashoah candles from our Judaica Shop or call the Congregation office to make a donation.

2017 – 2018 SCHOOL FUNDRAISERS

GOODSEARCH
When you want to search the internet, our congregation will make money when you begin your internet search – about anything – by entering your search terms in the GoodSearch box on our own homepage: http://www.agudathachim.org. If 100 people make two searches per day, it’s estimated that we could earn over $700 per year. That’s it – nothing else to do!!  More info here.

AMAZON.COM
More detailed info here.  When you want to buy a book and are willing to purchase it online from Amazon, our congregation will make money when you enter the book’s title or author in the Amazon box on our own homepage: http://www.agudathachim.org. Amazon keeps track of the fact that you came to their website from our home page and then credits us 4% to 6% of each new book purchase. In the past four years we’ve earned $1650 – money that you helped us earn by just making a slight adjustment to how you shop for books!!

PAPER RECYCLING
Bring all your recyclable paper to the green and yellow Paper Retriever® bin located in the backside of the parking lot of the Community House. This program not only benefits the environment, but we earn money for all of the paper collected each month.

SHOEBOX RECYCLING Bring your paired second-hand shoes to the JCH and put them in the special box. These shoes are sent to developing countries where they are in demand. At the same time, we receive 50¢ per pound of donated shoes. We collect all useable, paired shoes in bags and boxes – athletic shoes, dress shoes, dress boots, work boots, ballet shoes, slippers, etc. We cannot accept roller skates, ice skates, heavy or winter boots, or ski boots. Contact Marsha Nehiley at jewishtaunton@gmail.com for more information.
