For Our Community

SONIA FRANKLIN HELPING HAND FUND
Sisterhood maintains the Sonia Franklin Helping Hand Fund to assist women and families. Funds are utilized to purchase groceries or help with specified urgent needs. All assistance is confidential.

DONATIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE

Items being collected should be brought to the Jewish Community House
during morning office hours, during school hours or when you’re here for a meeting.

SAMARITAN HOUSE HOMELESS SHELTER FOOD DONATIONS
Hunger knows no season. Regardless of the time of year, please continue to bring your boxed and canned food donations. Anything is welcome at this time. Aim for things with protein, if possible. We’ve delivered many boxes of food. The need continues. Event leftovers welcome.

TAUNTON FAMILY CENTER
We’re collecting diapers – of all sizes – to support families with small children at this area transitional housing for families facility.

PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE FOR LOW INCOME ADULTS
When you lose weight and swear that you’ll never be “that big” again – or when you face facts that you’ll never be “that thin” again – you have clothes clogging your closets that need a new home. St. Vincent De Paul Society needs your clean, ready-to-wear, in season, and already-on-hangers professional attire. Information on what to donate may be found at http://www.dorcasplace.org. Click on “programs’ and then on “clothing collaborative”. Your donations will be kept on the coat rack in the JCH kitchen until Doug Michaud, our custodian and a leader at the Fall River St. Vincent’s delivers them – probably about once a month.

OUR DAILY BREAD SOUP KITCHEN: YOUR CHANGE – CHANGES LIVES
When you have loose change weighing down your purse, your pocket or your change jar, send it to school with your children or bring it yourself. Our school students collect and donate over $150/year to feed the hungry on our own streets.
